There is a lot of talk about oneness and unity; that we are all connected and interconnected. So why is it so difficult for us to actually live in that place? Why is it so difficult to actually live with a deep understanding that everything we do, say, and think affects the Whole? You are not alone. In fact, your energy, your essence and your way of being have an impact on everything around you.
I believe that each human being has a unique voice and that our existence on this earth is essential. I believe that we are all called here to stand for love, honesty, freedom, clean air, education, cultural understanding, and peace. I believe that each individual is a part of a collective and that together we can create a world that is healthy and whole.
I am a product of the 60’s. This was a time filled with changes and questions about the ways in which we, as a culture, operated. It was a time that people were demanding to be seen as equals and honored as part of the human family. People began standing up for what they thought was right. Many of us remember the marches for civil rights, women’s liberation, and anti war. It was a time of deep conviction and demands for conscious inclusion and integrity. As I think about that time, I am aware of where I am today. The honoring of life and humanity is still important to me. I have a deep inner longing to experience a world that works for everyone. I hunger for a world where our children are safe, nurtured, and loved. I desire to see people understanding that we are all connected, and what happens to one happens to all.
What if we took time to dedicate ourselves to “interior” marches? What if we took time to re-discover our great passions and marched for humanity? What if we took a stand for every person’s right to live a life that is fulfilling and expansive and marched for that truth in thought, word, and deed? It feels like a wonderful time to activate our individual “practices” (whatever they may be) and invite ourselves to participate in every activity from a space of inclusion.
Affirmation: Today, I embrace a new way of being. I open to creating spaces of honor and respect. I claim a new way of being in relationship with myself and others.
