Success requires risk. It demands that we step out of our comfort zones and move into unknown territory. We all know that, but doing it is another thing. There are lots of people walking around talking about their dreams, but many are completely immobilized. The thought of taking action to manifest the dream is so frightening that they do nothing.
A few months ago, I was asked to co-host a new Internet radio show. I had thought about trying something like that, but had never pursued it. Now, here was this opportunity being gifted to me. I took some time to weigh the pros and cons and agreed to become involved. That “yes” has taken me on an amazing ride up a steep learning curve.
I have been asked to learn new things, become more flexible, demand more of myself and partner in a new way. I would love to tell you that it has been easy, but that is not the case. But it has been enlivening, educational, expanding and joyous. I have gone places I was not sure I could go and opened myself to more vulnerable moments than I ever expected I could.
I want to share with you that the journey was not anything like the trepidation that wanted to consume my mind. The questions of doubt cleared away once I decided to “leap and trust,” and the path unfolded in astounding ways.
I would like to invite you to “step out” this month. Write the first page of your novel. Submit your article to a magazine. Audition for that play. Paint your first picture. Share your hidden poetry. What have you got to lose, except, maybe an opportunity to share your unique gifts?
I say, let’s “leap” together and transform the planet with the beauty of our talents and visibility.
Take a moment to remember this and recite it to yourself:
Today, there is nothing standing in the way of my full expression. I dare to “step out” and create some new waves.
