March is a month dedicated to celebrating women. It took me a while to grow into loving the fact I am a woman because my childhood was riddled with hurt and pain. I remember feeling cursed on occasions and wondering why I came to this planet as a girl. As I grew mentally, emotionally and spiritually I began to understand the power of being a woman. Today, I am excited to embrace my innate essence and the gifts I bring. I also understand life is evolutionary and who I am today had to experience every moment of my life.
About a year ago, I became aware of a shift in my consciousness. Things, which used to upset me, seemed trivial. My inner judge could not take control of me. I ceased to move away from people because an opinion created separation. I watched as I consistently put my attention on my own thought patterns and reactions. The result was more inner peace and harmony in every area of my life. The change was so dramatic I began to focus my meditations on this shift. I asked, “What is happening?” One day a word came into my awareness. The word was ‘awakening.’ Therefore, I looked up the meaning, and there were two.
- Dictionary definition of Awakening: is an act or moment of becoming suddenly aware of something.
- Spiritual definition of Awakening: when the confused and frightened self transcends to a higher consciousness, an awareness full of love and peace.
As I reflected on the last 18 months, I could see how much I had grown and changed the way I behaved and responded to people and situations. I also began to notice peers and clients had a similar experience. At first, I was going to write about it, but then an idea came to me. I will create video interviews with women and share their experiences so multitudes of women could benefit from the expansion and wisdom. What emerged was the creation of the “women awakening” video series, which now lives on my website and on YouTube. As I facilitated the interviews, some striking similarities came forward. We were all awakening spiritually and coming to some extraordinary revelations.
Qualities of Awakening
I, personally, was becoming less tolerant with any behaviors not in alignment with what I say I believed. My life was instantly mirroring back to me unconscious behaviors. I began to notice these experiences were answers to my prayers asking for clarity and expansion.
Each woman I interviewed, in different ways, had asked for awakening. Each one had proclaimed or prayed for a shift. They described what was occurring in their lives and businesses. Each one wanted to bring their voices to the planet in different ways. Each one wanted to exhibit authenticity and make a difference. Some of the women were successful authors, entrepreneurs or community builders. None was clear, at the beginning of their quests, about how they would emerge. They just knew they had to change. Below is a list of the commonalities we all experienced following seven things at different times and spaces:
- Inner Stillness became the norm – There was a “need” for more quiet time. In fact, many described it as a calling. The more still they became; the more inner guidance became clear.
- Amplified Intuition emerges – Unprecedented intuitive awareness emerged. People knew things without understanding why or how.
- Becoming present in each moment – It became more comfortable to be with self, with others and to experience the moment. A powerful listening developed because they were present and available.
- Clarity of a spiritually energetic Universe supporting all – Some became more connected through spiritual practice. While others were guided to books, workshops or experiences. Wherever we went, each one of us shared a deep inner knowing the Universe was a field of infinite love and possibilities.
- Feelings of consistent harmony – The experience of an internal harmonic convergence became the norm for all of us. In fact, when other feelings emerged it felt foreign.
- Improved ability to take responsibility for self and choices – The clarity we are responsible for our opportunities and life experiences was profound. No one was in charge of us but us!
- A sense of Connection with all – Women reported they were connecting more to nature, to compassion for world events, and for people who had challenged them in the past. The words changed, but the experience of wholeness and connection were clear.
We are watching women all over this planet rising in presence, voice, and power. They are reminding us the fully orbed woman is divine in nature. We are the glorious counterbalance to the masculine. We are necessary to sustain a loving and compassionate world.
I created an acronym for women. If you are a woman, I invite you to embrace it and practice these qualities. If you are a man, please honor and acknowledge these traits in the women in your life. As we all awaken and accept the awakened woman, we all gain.
I know for myself that I am grateful to the women awakening in my life and celebrate them daily. March is just a reminder the essence of women is as follows:
